After an inspring trip to Florida USA this October (2014), Organic Rhythm now has 2 trained DRUMBEAT facilitators and are delighted to offer this programme in the UK.
What is DRUMBEAT ?
DRUMBEAT is an evidence based award winning therapeutic intervention suitable for young people and adults “at risk” and is particularly helpful for people who are resistant to talk based therapies.
Designed initially to address issues around drugs, alcohol and peer pressure this programme uses hand drumming to address a range of recognised “risk” factors associated with unhealthy lifestyles.
How does it work?
A ten week programme for 8 – 14 that explores connections between making music together and the development of healthy relationships. Using hand drums and discussion the programme builds resiliance by increasing protective factors such as self esteem, social connection, social skills and emotional control.
Who is it for?
Young people AND adults including those within: Schools, PRU’s, Mental Hospitals, Young Offenders Institutions, Prisons, Homeless hostels, Mental health services sevices, Refuges, Day centres, Youth Groups.
