Drumming Workshops and Drum Circles

We are taking bookings for Saturday afternoon and Monday evening workshops. You can also drum with us at the many events we will be attending during the summer. Please scroll down for further information.

 

Saturday 23rd June - African Dance and African Drumming

with Kofi Leo and Sharon Stone.    At The Foyer, Peter Street, Yeovil.

11am - 4pm  £18  Please bring your own lunch or food to share.

Born in Jamaica, Chief Nana Kofi is a Master Drummer and Choreographer. Kofi has performed all over the world, and has an International Teaching track record. He has represented The Commonwealth Institute as a Teacher of the African/Caribbean Drum, Dance and Song.

All ages and abilities welcome. Drums will be provided. No previous experience is necessary. Please contact us if you would like to book your place!

May 19th- Royal Wootton Basset - Drum Circle on Carnival day, Organic Rhythm will be working with Kaya Drums to bring family friendly interactive and participatory drumming sessions.

June 1st -The Royal Bath & West Show, Shepton Mallet. Performances and drumming workshops on the village green. www.bathandwest.com

June 16th - Waspfest- Festival, Somerton, Somerset. Performance and interactive drum circles at this local festival raising money for the air ambulance and motor neurones disease charities.

June 17th - Cheddar Ales Beer Festival- interactive family friendly drum circles.  www.cheddarales.co.uk/beerfestival.php

July 7th- Salvation Army  Anniversary Celebration Drum Circle, Yeovil, Somerset.

July 2012 - Look out for us drumming on Weymouth beach as part of the Schools Olympic Beach Festival.

August-Weekend of Drumming workshops for women in Fife, Scotland.

September 15th - Castle Cary Play Day - an afternoon of family friendly interactive drum circles.

November - Organic Rhythm 5th Birthday Drum Circle, date and venue to be confirmed. This was so popular last year that we are currently looking for a bigger venue!

No Limits Drumming Project

Thank you to those who came to the No Limits Drumming Project.

We will be starting again soon, watch this space for further details!

Organic Rhythm is proud to be supported by D.O.T.S Disablity and Dorset County Council to offer a weekly day time activity in the Sherborne area of Dorset. This is a new community based project aimed at disabled people under the age of 65  who are in reciept of Direct Payments or Personal budgets, however all are welcome. Using hand drums and percussion instruments the No Limits Drumming Project offers participants a morning of inclusive, accessible, relaxing and therapeutic activities.

 

 

Suitable for all, regardless of ability, age or experience.

No Limits Drumming Project also offers a friendly and relaxed space for social interaction, to ease isolation and to have fun! Refreshments will be served too! We offer interactive participatory drumming workshops.  Effective for team building, conference ice-breakers, as well as leadership and learning and development opportunities.

An activity suitable for:

  • The elderly in care homes
  • Active Living groups
  • Clients with physical or mental health problems or learning difficulties, either in residential homes or day services

Organic Rhythm has experience of working with all these client groups and will tailor your sessions to suit the individuals taking part.
